Animal Experience At Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge

The Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge is in a Big 5 area, and Wild Dog and Cheetah can also be seen on occasion.

Sable Antelope are found in this area too. Although there are not many herds they tend to be seen quite often, and we drive the Talamati road (About 10kms from Hoyo Hoyo) to hopefully try and spot one of these beautiful antelope, the animal behind our logo here at Stories Of The Kruger.

General bushveld and plains game can be seen here too: Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Burchell’s Zebra, Giraffe and Warthog. Night drives are a must in this area.

Birding At Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge

The Greater Kruger National Park offers you, as a birder, the experience of a lifetime. The entire Park offers more than 500 bird species, and there are easily 250 bird species that can be found in the vicinity of Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge.

Bushveld birds are found in abundance, and the mornings are full of life as the birds wake up at dawn. You can identify many birds by their calls at the camp and on self-drives. I have mentioned it before about the area, but one can often find the Black-crowned Tchagra hiding away in the thickets. They are a common bird, well relatively, but are one of our favourites.
